How to take it
Dose
Your doctor may adjust this after the consultation, based on how long you have had symptoms.
When
Morning and evening, with lukewarm water. Avoid taking it on a completely empty stomach.
For how long
One month tells you whether it is working. Three months is what settles long standing acidity.
What to expect
Most people stop Ayurvedic medicine at week three because nothing dramatic has happened yet. Here is what actually happens, and when.
Less distension after meals. The heaviness lifts before the appetite returns.
Real hunger at mealtimes, often for the first time in months. Motions become more regular.
Food is actually being absorbed. Post-meal tiredness usually goes around here.
Digestion holds without the medicine. Most patients stop at the end of the course.
In Ayurveda we don't treat the stomach last — we treat it first. Weak Agni produces Ama, and Ama is upstream of far more complaints than patients expect. Half the people I see for joint pain or skin problems need their digestion corrected before anything else will hold.
